Como desarmar tu Xbox

In order to begin your ModChip modification you will need the following:

Low watt soldering iron (15-30 watt) with a fine tip
T10 and T15 Torx screwdriver
Flat head screwdriver (also known as a 'slot')
Now that you have the materials we are ready to modify the XBox.

CAUTION: Disconnect all power and A/V cords from your XBox and ensure that all devices including controllers, compact discs and / or DVD’s are removed from the system.

Turn your XBox upside down and remove all 4 screw caps amd 2 labels. These caps and labels cover the XBox assembly screws. (Tip: Pry the caps off gently using a small flat head screw driver.)

Remove the 6 exposed screws using a T15 Torx bit or screwdriver. Place the screws in a safe spot.

After you have removed all 6 of the case screws, flip the XBox console right side up and then carefully remove the cover.

Remove the IDE (grey ribbon) cable from the XBox Hard Drive and DVD Drive.

This is the ribbon cable removed from the XBox DVD Drive.

Remove the yellow power cable from the XBox DVD Drive.

Remove the power cable from the XBox Hard Drive.

Use a T10 Torx bit or screw driver to remove the 3 screws that hold the XBox DVD Drive and the Hard Drive. Removing these will enable you to lift up both devices and expose the XBox motherboard.

Remove the yellow power cable, the IDE (grey ribbon) cable and the cooling fan connection.

Remove the main power cable from the XBox motherboard.

Remove the XBox front panel control cable (yellow datacable for the Eject and Power buttons).

Only v1.0 Xbox: Carefully remove the XBox Controller port daughter board.
For all other XBox versions: Remove the USB datacables from the motherboard.

Using a T10 Torx bit or screw driver remove the 11 screws. Once all 11 screws have been removed carefully remove the XBox motherboard from the case.

Now you have the board exposed match it to one of the installation-pictures on the product page.

WE ARE NOW READY TO INSTALL THE MODCHIP

CAUTION: Due to the heat involved in soldering, you must only hold the iron tip on the pad to be soldered for enough time to allow the solder to flow. If too much heat is applied to the contact it may damage the chip, lift a PCB trace or burn insulation back on the wire. If you burn the insulation off of the wire, trim and re-solder the connection. Removing too much insulation could result in the exposed copper wire touching other traces on the board. This is hazardous to the XBox unit.

After double-checking all connections and soldering points, follow the above steps in reverse order to re-assemble the XBox.

Once you have completely re-assembled the unit, plug in your power source and video outputs. Power up the XBox.

Test the Xbox FIRST with an original game!
